The Non-Financial Risk Technology organization builds and manage applications to enable the Morgan Stanley Non-Financial Risk division.
The Fraud Technology team is dedicated to protecting the firm from fraudulent activities performed by external actors, employees, and clients. Applications provided by the team include real-time payment screening, anomaly detection, statistical modelling, and machine learning to detect unusual behaviors, fraud decision and scoring, case management, reporting, investigation, and analytics. The team partners closely with Fraud Department, Wealth Management, Institutional Securities, Cyber, Financial Crimes, and other key stakeholders to help protect the firm from an evolving and sophisticated fraud landscape.
Role Description
As a global software and data engineering lead your role will be to lead and mentor the Fraud Data and Fraud Case Management technical teams across North America and India. The primary objective of the Fraud Data team is to come up with a Data Strategy that aligns with the WM and ISG Data strategy and deliver a solid data foundation to enable current and long-term Fraud analytics and AI/ML use-cases. The primary objective of the Case Management technical team is to deliver efficiencies across the Fraud Alert and Incident management process, and fully automate and streamline interactions of the Fraud team with other BU and Risk teams.
You will be expected to build strategic relationships with senior Fraud department, Technology and Business stakeholders. You will be expected to present to global technology and business leadership the long-term technical strategy recommendations that align with the Fraud Departments business objectives. The role will be accountable for multiple complex programs with noticeable impact on business enablement and driving efficiency. The role is expected to negotiate change across direct area of responsibility and be able to influence other related technical and business areas.
You will be responsible for the development of global technical talent and leadership for current and long-term needs and opportunities, The role will be responsible for all aspects of the software development process, lead architecture and design, developing scalable, secure, and resilient solutions leveraging modern technologies and practices.

Skills Required
The candidate must possess a strong technology leadership background.
At least 15 years experience in software and data engineering space
Software development experience in a modern programming language and familiarity with SDLC practices and/or strong Data Management experience with data& analytics technologies involving structured, semi-structured and unstructured data.
Excellent interpersonal and professional skills; detail-oriented
Strong analysis and problem-solving skills
Ability to learn quickly and pick up new technologies.
Ability to work effectively in a global and dynamic team
Experience in Financial Services
Skills Desired
Experience with Big Data, Snowflake Data Platform, Azure Data ecosystem.
Experience with Relational, Graph and NOSQL Operational Databases
Knowledge of Kafka
Fundamental knowledge of public cloud platforms like Azure/GCP/AWS
Experience with Machine Learning and related applications
Experience in Data Modelling, Architecture and Governance
Experience with Data Governance Tools such as Collibra Data Catalog and Quality
