The Impact & ESG Department at responsAbility is responsible for managing and measuring the impact achieved by our investment activities, as well as managing ESG risks across our portfolio companies. We offer a unique opportunity in the Environmental, Social and Governance space as an
ESG Analyst in Mumbai
In this role you will provide support to strengthen the current ESG function at responsAbility, by assisting in the implementation of, and reporting of ESG management.
Your Main Tasks
- Assist with ESG assessments, monitoring and reporting requirements of responsAbility, especially in relation to financial institutions but also including other investment themes.
- Provide support on ESG data collection, management and review for investee companies.
- Respond to our Sales and Marketing team around ESG topics for investor queries, surveys and requests for proposals.
- Collaborate with various internal stakeholders and support the annual ESG reporting exercise of specific funds.
- Research ESG topics in private markets to respond to investor interest and keep oversight of key trends in ESG sector.
- Assist in providing content for ESG blogs and other material.
- Assist in keeping ESG methodologies and tools in line with regulatory requirements, notably those set out by the European commissions action plan on sustainable finance.
Your Experience And Skills
- Bachelors or masters degree with focus on development, sustainability, impact, environmental, social or corporate governance issues and topics of a recognized institution.
- 2-4 years experience of ESG issues either with a financial institution (bank, asset manager etc.) or an ESG/sustainability consultancy.
- Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Knowledge of Power BI is a plus.
- Strong analytical and writing skills in excellent spoken and written English. Spanish would be considered as a plus.
- High degree of initiative, reliability and willingness to learn. Ability to grasp concepts quickly and manage multiple projects; strong analytical skills; experience with IFC Performance Standards is a plus.
- Good interpersonal skills, interest in and enthusiasm for development and impact and ESG investing, especially in the areas of financial inclusion, sustainable food and climate finance.
