Job Summary:A High School English Teacher is responsible for instructing students in grades 9-12 in various aspects of English language arts, including literature, writing, grammar, and critical thinking. The role involves developing lesson plans, assessing student performance, fostering a positive classroom environment, and preparing students for standardized tests and future academic endeavors.
Instruction and Curriculum Development:- Plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons in English language arts.
Develop and implement a curriculum that meets state standards and district requirements.- Incorporate a variety of teaching strategies and multimedia resources to cater to different learning styles.
Assessment and Evaluation:- Design and administer assessments to evaluate student progress.
Provide timely and constructive feedback on assignments and exams.- Maintain accurate records of student performance and grades.
Classroom Management:- Establish and enforce classroom rules to maintain a respectful and productive learning environment.
Address behavioral issues promptly and effectively.- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture.
Student Support:- Identify students individual learning needs and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
Offer additional support and tutoring as needed.- Encourage and motivate students to achieve their academic potential.
Communication:- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress and any concerns.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.Certification:
Valid state teaching certification in secondary English.Experience: Prior teaching experience, preferably at the high school level.
Strong knowledge of English literature, grammar, and composition.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to develop engaging and effective lesson plans.
- Proficiency in classroom management and student assessment.
Competency in using educational technology and multimedia resources.
