Job Summary
The Drama/Theatre Teacher will be responsible for teaching theatre arts to students across various grade levels. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in theatre arts and a commitment to inspiring students through innovative and culturally responsive teaching methods.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Planning and Delivery:
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with the school's theatre curriculum and cater to a diverse student body.
- Facilitate engaging and interactive theatre classes that encourage student creativity and collaboration.
- Integrate a variety of teaching methodologies and assessment strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
Student Development:
- Guide students in the development of their theatre skills, including acting, directing, design, and production.
- Mentor students through their theatre projects and performances, ensuring cultural sensitivity and inclusivity.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student growth and confidence.
Assessment and Evaluation:
- Assess student work according to established criteria and provide constructive feedback.
- Prepare students for internal and external assessments, including practical and written examinations.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and achievement.
Extracurricular Activities:
- Coordinate and direct school theatre productions, workshops, and events.
- Encourage student participation in extracurricular theatre activities and community events.
Professional Development:
- Stay current with developments in theatre education and best teaching practices.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and school-wide initiatives.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall educational experience at Sancta Maria International School.

Qualifications
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Theatre Arts, Drama, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Teaching certification or equivalent qualification.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years teaching theatre, preferably in an international school setting.
- Proven experience directing theatre productions and facilitating student performances.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of theatre arts and educational best practices.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to inspire and engage students in the creative process.
- Proficiency in using technology to enhance teaching and learning.
