Do you want to build software that impacts millions of customers worldwide, tackling some of the world's most complex e-commerce challenges We are searching for a highly skilled and experienced engineering manager to join our Platform Engineering super track to lead our Private Cloud - Foundation software engineering team in our Amsterdam HQ.
As a valuable member of our leadership team, you will collaborate closely with a Technical Product Manager and your team of Software Engineers, Site Reliability Engineers, and users of our Private Cloud to design, build and maintain adoption, enablement and self-service tooling that is highly accessible and scalable for our Private Cloud Platform built with OpenStack. Your team uses modern development, cloud and virtualisation technologies and tools, such as OpenStack, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Python, Terraform, Harness, Golang, Grafana, and Elastic search (to name a few).
Your duties will involve ensuring the platform and tooling reliability, security, compliance and performance, as well as managing the engineering team and ensuring they have the necessary resources, support and growth. The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in software engineering, platform engineering, and management, along with expertise in cloud technologies. Exposure to OpenStack and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) would give you an edge but is not mandatory.
You will demonstrate your technicality to grow those around you, drive your team's performance and relentlessly improve the quality of your systems. You are a role model who leads from the front. You will guide teams through all engineering aspects, being hands-on when needed. You will own and operate critical, high-scale services. You will frequently collaborate with stakeholders in various functions, including but not limited to engineering, product, and leadership.

Key skills
5+ years of platform engineering experience
Demonstrated ability leading and managing a team of engineers in a fast-paced and complex environment
Strong people leadership skills and experience dealing with sophisticated people issues
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field or 5 years of progressively responsible experience in the specialty as equivalent
Strong programming skills
Strong business and technical vision
A deep understanding of software development in a team, and a track record of hands-on developing and shipping software
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong work ethic; self-directed and resourceful
Solution oriented and result driven
