The Product Engineering Manager will lead a cross functional engineering development team on innovative automotive sensor products. We design, develop and manufacture products that enable the next generation of connected, autonomous and electrified vehicles. What You Will Do
- Lead and manage a dynamic team of engineers involved in the development of automotive sensor technology
- Drive the entire product engineering lifecycle, from concept to production, ensuring high-quality and innovative solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Quality, Manufacturing and Test, to meet project milestones and deliverables.
- Lead and improve the engineering processes, ensuring adherence to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality benchmarks.
- Ensure the design meets and is validated to all requirements
- Responsible for Engineering work products (FMEA, FTA, WCCA, Requirement Traceability, others)
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to resolve complex engineering challenges related to sensor development.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to meet organizational goals and customer expectations.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in automotive sensor technology.
- Interface with stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and internal leadership, to communicate project progress and address concerns.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging creativity and problem-solving within the engineering team.
- Willingness to travel as needed for client engagements and business pursuits.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Experience in the development automotive electronics.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and mentor a diverse engineering team.
- Good knowledge of automotive development processes including V-Model, ASPICE and agile methods
- Knowledgeable in Automotive systems
- Strong networking and confident communication skills
- Ability to cultivate relationships with eco-system partners
- Goal oriented, structured, diligent and independent work ethic
- Required Education & Work Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent science degree
- 8+ years product design experience in Automotive
- 3+ years leading Engineering Teams in Automotive Development
What Will Put You Ahead
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent science degree
- 10+ years product design experience in Automotive Sensors
- 5+ years leading Engineering Teams in Automotive Sensor Development
- Accelerometer and/or Current Sensor based development and application experience
