Overview
We are a pioneering company at the forefront of genetic testing technology, dedicated to enhancing reproductive health outcomes. Our mission is to develop advanced carrier screening genetic tests that seamlessly integrate with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems at fertility clinics. We are seeking a dynamic Head of Engineering to lead our technology team and drive the development of our groundbreaking genetic testing service. This role is pivotal in transforming the way fertility clinics access and utilize genetic information, by integrating our services with the IMS EHR system to ensure efficient and effective healthcare delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Chief Scientific Officer to translate their specifications in production software for genomic data processing and report generation that integrates with the IMS EHR systems.
- Technical Expertise: Employ deep knowledge in full-stack development, including proficiency in JavaScript, Shell scripting, Python, AWS, and IMS EHR integration.
- Team Management: Supervise and mentor a team of engineers in implementing bioinformatics pipelines in production and interfacing our genetic testing service with the IMS EHR system.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to align technology development with business goals and customer needs.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Proven experience as a Head of Engineering, Technical Lead, or senior engineering role with a track record of managing successful engineering teams.
Technical Skills:
- Expertise in full-stack development with strong hands-on experience in JavaScript, Shell scripting, Python, and AWS.
- Experience with IMS EHR systems and their integration with external services.
- Familiarity with bioinformatics, genetic testing, or similar fields is a plus.
- Leadership Skills: Exceptional leadership, team management, and communication skills with the ability to inspire and guide teams towards achieving technological and business goals.
