About Role

We are looking for an Engineering Manager who possesses a passion for helping the team in building great product and customer experiences. (S)he will work with a team of talented engineers to design and build the next generation of our e-commerce platform.

An ideal candidate should be experienced in architecture, design and management of enterprise grade software using a variety of programming languages (C#, Go, python, JavaScript), using the best-in-breed design patterns and quickly adopting new technology as required. The candidate

should be able to hire, coach and mentor top technical talent to develop and deliver high quality software in a fast-paced environment.

(S)he should be able to collaborate with global and local teams, should be a quick-learner and self-starter.

Provide technology leadership to the engineering team.

Lead the ongoing software development, design, build, unit testing and deployment activities.

Guide the development team's vision, best practices, and priorities.

Handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Write and review code/software modules as required.

Provide technical solutions to business problems and build proof-of-concepts as required.

Follow the latest software development methodologies TDD/BDD in order to write bug free, clean, readable/maintainable functioning code.

Actively participate in team discussions and white boarding sessions.

Hiring top talent, mentoring and coaching team for performance.

Assist team in achieving goals and milestones for projects with an eye on timelines.

Preferred skill Set

Bachelor's degree from accredited institution, must have Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject.

10-13 years of overall software development experience in a technology-oriented organization including 2-4 years in a technology lead role.

Experience working with e-commerce/B2C, B2B and enterprise software environments (B2C experience would be highly desirable).

Experience in leading Web Development & IT projects based on Agile, Scrum, Extreme programming Methodologies such as Clean Code.

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals.

Hands on experience with programming languages e.g. C# .Net, .Net Core, and Python; web and application frameworks e.g. MVC, MVVM, Dependency Injection Frameworks, web service technologies e.g. JSON/REST.

Solid knowledge of OOP software concepts, design patterns, and best practices.

Experience working on scalable software deployments on Unix/Linux e.g. Debian, Ubuntu, and RHEL. Experience with AWS would be a plus.

Hands-on experience with ORM tools; one RDBMS PostgreSQL/Oracle/MySQL would be essential. Experience with NoSQL, cache databases like Redis would be desirable

Experience with version control tools such as Git, SVN; deployment tools Ansible, would be desirable.
