nWho You Are

nJoin our Data Analytics team at Verve, where you'll oversee the architecture supporting our ad exchanges data, processing millions of requests per second at terabyte scale. You'll ensure low-latency, cost-efficient data access and support engaging UI/UX experiences for BI, analytics, and data science applications.

nKey responsibilities include feature development, performance tuning, and maintaining platform stability. Our mission is to enable data-driven decisions at your fingertips, and you'll play a pivotal role in providing the system for all business decisions. This hands-on role (70% engineering, 30% management) reports to the VP of Data Intelligence Platforms. You'll drive technology advancements while leading and mentoring your team.

nLead and Manage

• nThis role is 70% hands on, enhancing and supporting data analytics components
• nLead and manage a team of on-site and remote engineers

• nIn this role, your main focus would be around data warehouses to provide users efficient insights into our ad tech platform
• nEnsure efficient and flexible data schema
• nEnsure engine performance and reliability
• nEfficient SQL-based transformations
• nCost-efficient analytical solutions
• nWriting simple, understandable, testable, and efficient code with a focus on solid technical stability and great user experience
• nEnsuring compliance with industry standards and regulations in terms of security, and data privacy applied in the data processing layer
• nDefining and implementing security measures according to best practices

nCollaborative Work

• nWork closely with product and reporting teams to provide accurate on-time and organize fast and easy access to them
• nDesign end-to-end DWH solutions, working closely with the data processing and data science engineering teams
• nAbility to articulate business requirements and bridge the gap between development teams and stakeholders
• nAbility to present business and technical issues, ideas, and recommendations in verbal, written, and presentation formats using storytelling and logical arguments
• nCollaborate with teams across the globe in different time zones
• nExtend successful solutions and optimization to sister companies in Verve
• nCollaborating with stakeholders to understand project functional requirements and objectives from a data processing perspective

nWhat You Will Bring

• n5+ years of experience working as a Data/DWH Engineer in industry is a must, where you have gained hands-on experience delivering DWH/OLAP solutions

• n3+ years of experience leading a small team of highly productive engineers

• nFirst experiences in managing individual contributors

• nProven experience in owning the products and driving them to the end, all the way from gathering requirements, development, testing, and deployment to ensuring high availability post-deployment

• nOLAP engine (preferably Vertica, BigQuery), MPP engines(e.g Trino/Presto, Impala, ClickHouse), SQL (understanding plans, troubleshooting, window functions)n

• Druid

• nBachelor's degree in Computer Science or relevant field

• nCloud platforms: preferably GCP

• nProgramming languages: Python and/or JVM

nNice to have

• nBI tools (Looker, Tableau, AWS QuickSight, etc)

• nAdTech knowledge

• nELT/ETL: DBT, Airflow (Apache NiFi)

• nOpen-source committer/contributor / PMC in any of Apache big data open-source technologies

• nExposure to Automation, and DevOps (Kubernetes, Jenkins CI/CD pipelines)
