As a Telecommunications Engineer you will be responsible for development Telecommunications Designs to support Network Rail GRIP Stage 3 through to GRIP Stage 8 projects and also assist in production of RIBA stage E through K reports, calculations, and drawings to enable the Principal contractors to successfully build specific projects.
nThe right candidate will be well versed and experienced in Network Rail and London Underground Infrastructure Projects.

Qualifications
nThe candidate must demonstrate the qualifications and experience/capability described below:
n- Master of Science / Engineering in an electronic communications course of study.
n- Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering
n- Must be pursuing Chartered Engineer (CEng) in a relevant engineering discipline (MIET, etc.).
n- Experience, preferably in the UK, producing and checking Telecommunications designs
n- Underpinning knowledge of Network design principles and significant experience working within a rail environment and good working knowledge of Network Rail, TfL & LUL standards, IET Regulations.
n- As a Telecommunications Engineer you will need to have detailed knowledge on the design of various systems and subsystems, these will include but not limited to;n
- Trackside equipment and infrastructure installation and operation
n- Fixed Telecommunications Network (FTN and FTNx)
n- Radio systems in UK Rail operations (GSM-R primarily)
n- Station and Building network infrastructure Structured Cabling infrastructure Copper and fibre optic
n- Multiprotocol Label Switching Networks (MPLS) and SD-WAN
n- Internet Protocol Closed Circuit Television (IP-CCTV) Systems
n- EN54 Public Address and Voice Alarm Systems
n- Integrated Station / Building Management Systems (SMS, IBMS)
n- Customer Information Systems (CIS)
n- IP based Access Control Systems
n- Multi-mode Intruder Detection Systemsn
- Wireless Network Architecture
n- Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) including:
n- Video Intercom Systems
n- Passenger Help Points
n- Telephony
n- Experience in the preparation of conceptual reports, telecommunications scheme designs, project documentation, specifications, contract schedules, implementation/ construction plans and costings to client requirements.n
- Previous experience in developing, analysing, assessing and implementation of Network Bandwidth allocation for MPLS converged networks
n- Provision of specialist technical support and assistance to railway projects, and management of allocated junior support staff.
