You will be the face for Quality to various OEMs and Tier customers in the North region working very closely with them in understanding their current, future and potential Quality requirements/ concerns & taking up them with the CFT to drive resolution in terms of corrective, preventive or improvement actions.
You will also work with local supplier base in the region for ensuring their quality levels.
You will work on enhancing customer satisfaction by achievement of set customer targets, reduce COPQ and achieve zero defect.
Major duties & responsibilities:
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Handling customer complaints, deployment of containment action to avoid line issues/ stoppage, driving permanent corrective & preventive action in co-ordination with the QREs at North & plant team.
- Ensure on time Closure of CAPA on customer portals
- Negotiation & convincing customer in case of a concern at customer end where there is no quality issue from 3M product
- Regularly visits customers to keep up the Quality rhythm.
- Leading Rejection/ warranty review and sign off at customer end.
- Participation in trials at customer line for New Products and preventing Quality concerns
- Provide inputs to CFT & manufacturing plant on new products/ customer complaints based on observations at customer end for necessary corrective / preventive actions
- Obtain approval from customers on New Product master samples
- Facilitate VQA trial & obtain fitment approval from customer
- Drive projects for achieving customer Quality targets and reducing PPM
- Coordinate holding & releasing of stocks/ inspection activity for customer complaints / non-conforming material at warehouses
- Periodically visit suppliers and outsourcing vendors for ensuring Quality in supplied products
- Plans and leads quality system & process audits at supplier end & warehouses.
- Establishes and cultivates a network of resources (laboratory, manufacturing, engineering, sales, and marketing) to facilitate completion of assignments.
- Participates in project planning. Assists in establishing project objectives and priorities.
- Maintains an awareness of Quality and works with the regional Technical & sales teams.
- Leads customer meetings on Quality improvement.
- Conducts and leads inter-laboratory test method studies.
- Productive in suggesting and testing ideas.
Qualification:
- Bachelor s degree in engineering in Chemical/ Printing Technology/ Mechanical from an accredited university.
- At least 10 years experience in Quality assurance in Automotive Industry
- Experience with automotive processes, customer-specific requirements and the management of customer Internet portals and certifications in quality engineering, quality audits or quality management as per IATF 16949 standard is preferred.
- Should be an Internal auditor for IATF 16949
- Should have hands on experience is statistical quality control & being a Six Sigma Black /Green Belt is an added advantage.
