Role Purpose : Development of new sensors, customization of current solutions and integration of electronic system inside trains within the Railway mechatronic product engineering team.
Key Responsibilities (Products & Process):
Product Engineering Activities: 65%
- Create/Modify technical specification, test plan, report & user manual for electronic components
- Design or selection of cable / junction boxes of suitable connectors, glands and conduit tubes to meet project requirements
- Preparation of system level BOM for customer orders detailing the items, quantity & length
- Preparation of electrical wiring diagrams
- Ability to involve in validation process of new product and test report creation from the scratch
- Ability to do reverse engineering activities on electronic control hardware devices
- Ability to read the test reports from laboratory and have a analytical skills of the test results
Process Adherence and Reviews & Reporting: 10% and 5%
- Should understand and adhere to Stage gate (ETO) process & Change Management process.
- Ensure Lessons Learned, Best Practices & MMR Reports are maintained effectively
- To work & manage according to the product Lifecycle Management (PLM) process
Continuous Improvement Initiatives: 10%
- Identify & facilitate continuous improvement initiatives (Design rules, Business Excellence, Quality, Project Management) to improve product & process performance (KPI s)
- Implement actions identified from root cause analysis for the process & product deviations and take corrective and propose preventive actions
Competency Development: 5%
- Active participation in knowledge sharing sessions and group learning sessions.
- Be updated on technologies, products, and services available within the SKF organization as well as from SKF partners related to his/her areas
Innovation Culture: 5%
- Use various idea generation techniques (Brainstorming, Crowd sourcing, Gordon Techniques, etc) to generate and foster innovation culture
- Initiate, drive and participate in events, both internally and externally, within his area
Key competency & Knowledge Profile:
- Cabling & Connector: capability to select wires & cable, to read cable specification (material, electrical data, knowledge on standard), strong knowledge about routing rules & cable fixation
- Knowledge of Cable shielding and basic principles & rules of EMC
- Fundamental understanding of Conduit corrugated tube datasheet material (mechanical, thermal, norms)
- Speed & Temperature sensor configuration for single & double channel, knowledge about types of signals, mounting, typical interfaces & packages.
- Hands-On knowledge to use oscilloscope & datalogger.
- Knowledge of Sensor integration with diverse mechanical components/assemblies.
- Ability to create manuals (for laboratory, depot).
- Basic knowledge of Windchill
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes for electronic components.
- Strong verbal and written communication to Stakeholder Management (Internal & External suppliers)
Candidate Profile : - Bachelors in Mechatronics alternatively Electronics,
- Around 1-3 years experience
- Individual contributor with the ability to work in multi-disciplinary & multi-cultural team
- Motivated team member willing to go extra mile to achieve set target / goal
- Preferable to have experience in railway industry (bogie and traction) handling installation, maintenance, customer complaints in retrofitting activities.
- The candidate will have opportunity to interact with Sales Unit and to interact with other teams which are dealing with electronics and sensors.
