JOB DESCRIPTION
- Project Management: Lead and manage new product development projects from initial concept to production implementation, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
Design and Engineering: Utilize CAD/CAM software to create and optimize designs for CNC machining and steel casting processes. Evaluate design feasibility, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Prototyping: Oversee the prototyping phase, coordinating with machinists, foundry personnel, and external vendors to produce prototypes for testing and validation.
Process Optimization:
Continuously improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Identify opportunities for automation and integration of new technologies.Materials Selection:
Work closely with suppliers to identify and qualify materials suitable for CNC machining and steel casting applications. Evaluate material properties and performance characteristics to meet project requirements.Quality Assurance: Develop and implement quality control measures to ensure the reliability and consistency of manufactured components. Perform inspections and testing throughout the production process.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineers, production personnel, sales, and marketing, to align on project objectives and deliverables.
Documentation:
Prepare detailed technical documentation, including engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing instructions. Maintain accurate records of project progress, issues, and resolutions.Customer Support:
Provide technical support to customers during the product development phase, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
6+ years of experience in new product development, preferably in a CNC machining or steel foundry environment.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Mastercam) and FEA analysis tools.
Strong understanding of CNC machining, metal casting, and fabrication processes.- Knowledge of materials science, metallurgy, and heat treatment techniques.
Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and disciplines.
Experience with quality management systems (ISO 9001, IATF16949) is a plus.
