Develop and manage logistics plans for the transportation and delivery of wind turbine components, including blades, nacelles, towers, and other critical parts.
Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturers, and contractors to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials and equipment.
Transportation and Delivery Coordination:
Oversee the transportation process, including the selection of carriers, route planning, and scheduling to minimize delays and costs.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including permits and safety standards for transporting oversized and heavy loads.
Site Logistics Planning:
Plan and manage site logistics, including the layout of storage areas, handling equipment, and site access routes.
Coordinate with the construction team to ensure that materials and equipment are delivered to the right location at the right time.
Inventory Management:
Monitor inventory levels of critical components and materials to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
Implement inventory control systems to track the movement and usage of materials.
Cost Management:
Analyze logistics costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
Prepare and manage budgets related to logistics activities.
Problem Solving:
Address and resolve logistical issues and challenges, such as delays, damages, or discrepancies.
Develop contingency plans to manage unforeseen disruptions in the supply chain.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of logistics activities with project goals and timelines.
Communicate effectively with external partners, including suppliers and transport providers, to facilitate smooth operations.
Compliance and Safety:
Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations in all logistics operations.
Conduct risk assessments and implement safety protocols for handling and transporting components.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of logistics activities, including transportation schedules, delivery receipts, and inventory levels.
Prepare regular reports on logistics performance, costs, and issues for review by management.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: Proven experience in logistics or supply chain management, preferably in the renewable energy or construction sector. Experience with wind turbine projects is highly desirable.
