Job Description:
The Engine Diagnostics, Prognostics and Health Management team (DPHM) is dedicated to providing end to end solutions to improve aircraft reliability while reducing operating costs by allowing for component repair instead of replacement and maximize engine time on wing.
The selected candidate will support Engineering and Proactive Monitoring teams by performing data queries for engineering studies, audit the quality of engine trend algorithms, troubleshoot data pipeline issues, and maintaining/implementing sprint plans to address quality issues with the existing web portals. The candidate will be expected to rapidly deploy data visualizations in PowerBI.
Essential Duties/Tasks of Position:
- Annually audit the quality of on-condition trend monitoring algorithms and the web portals.
- Analyze steady state and transient engine trend data in support of engineering studies
- Support QCPC & field investigations related to turbine engine Performance, Operability, Control, and Mechanical subsystems
- Query relational databases in support of advanced diagnostics and prognostics.
- Implement and maintain analytic dashboards and Power BI solutions
Required qualification and skills:
- Bachelor/Master of Science in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with minimum 3 years of engineering experience required in field of aviation.
- Knowledgeable of Six Sigma Statistical Process Control methods
- Strong computer programming skills using the languages Python, R, C++, and/or C# (SSIS)
- Familiar with data visualization techniques using (i.e., Matplotlib, HighCharts and/or PowerBI)
- Proficient in MS SQL, MySQL and/or PostgreSQL
- Proficient in MS Office, especially in Excel
- Good oral and written communication skills
Beneficial Skills:
- Experience in turbomachinery performance modeling
- Experience in engine condition trend monitoring
- Knowledge of DataBricks, AWS, and related services
- Agile/Scrum sprint planning and associated tool (ADO, TFS, etc.)
