Key Responsibilities/Job Duties
- Understanding the customer requirements/specifications, product design and drawings.
- Preparation of BOM (Bill of Materials) and uploading in ERP.
- Handling customer engineering change order/notifications and implementation.
- Suggesting alternate/equivalent component during critical period to run the product line.
- Attending internal/external component related queries.
- Identify, compare and evaluate existing and emerging component.
- Library creation for component.
- Maintaining the components database.
- Actively reviewing ongoing projects and to ensure all the related components are gathered.
- Clarifying the component queries with customer and taking decision.
- Preparation of WI (Station Instruction),
- Co-ordinate with process department in developing & implementing manufacturing process for the products.
- Interaction with Customer, IGI, Buyers and Suppliers.
- Supporting quality team on customer complaints closure.
- Handling the customer documents like Bill of Materials, Assembly drawing, Manufacturing specifications, test procedure and special instructions/CTQs along with the respective team for data adequacy for running the product.
- Conducting 4M readiness with CFT members on new product lunch..
- Execution of new products with target 90% yield in first pass qualification.
- Handle product transfer and new product set up.
- Support production by assessing complex product engineering issues that arise on production line.
- Evaluate and suggest improvements to process, quality and production yield.
- Examine methodologies to maximize debug, integration and verification efficiency.
- Solve product related problems and perform failure analysis related to product issues for NPI
- Interact with customer and various departments on product related issues engineering changes Order (ECO), new model development.
- Develop appropriate training material.
- Partner with design team/customer to resolve design related issues.
- Manage cost reduction activities in areas like material, inventory, and scrap reduction.
- Suggest modification to work instructions, material, or product changes so as to ensure superior quality of products.
- Co-ordinating with production, process to calculate the cycle time for New RFQ's.
- NRE (Non Recovering Engineering) cost preparation for new RFQ's
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required
- Bachelor's degree in electronics Engineering
- At least 5 years of experience in electronic manufacturing services - wiring harness
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in an Engineering department.
- Continuous Improvement experience including demonstrated success in implementing.
- Good understanding of manufacturing process, cost of quality, application of standards and monitoring
- Good knowledge on RoHS and Non-RoHS (Restricted the use of Hazardous Substances) parts.
- Good process knowledge on wiring harness
- Experience working with other department such as, Materials sourcing, Quality to satisfy customers.
- Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills appropriate for direct interaction with customers.
- Good computer skills in MSOffice applications.
Critical competencies: Customer Focus, Managing and Measuring work.
Experience Preferred
Experience with electronic electrical, and electro mechanical aerospace manufacturing with an emphasis on Final Assembly, Inspection and Testing of wiring harness
Knowledge on IPC 610/620 standards.
