I. Hiring specifications
Job Purpose: Responsible for Hardware design, knowledge of embedded hardware and Electrical harness design of the product with specific focus on new product engineering to develop state of the art products and drive research and development in emerging fields.
Role Expectations:
- Responsible for Hardware design of the product. This will include design of the power electronics circuits, microcontroller based embedded systems and Electrical harness Layout
- Coordinates with Project Coordinator/ engineering leaders, Marketing Manager, Mechanical Engineering, Sourcing and Manufacturing personnel to develop the products in an organized and expedient fashion.
- Hardware Architecture design according to requirement and covert into electrical layout.
- Extensive experience of full Hardware development life cycle including requirements management, design, development, verification & validation, qualification & certification testing in Electrical / Industrial applications.
- Demonstrated ability to technically lead, work with cross functional teams & provide solutions.
- Hands on experience in defining the system / subsystem specifications, designing the architecture and requirements for complex systems.
- Should have ability to influence and drive people / activities on complex technical issues.
- Experience collaborating with local / global suppliers for prototype developments, external labs for testing etc.
- Design, Develop and manage assigned modules within schedules/milestones
- Review deliverables with stakeholders
- Demonstrate robust design principles in execution
- Manage key performance indicators for self.
- Continuously upgrade skills and knowledge of Self.
- Demonstrated design experience in working with Microcontroller & DSP based system
- Knowledge of ARM architecture, software stacks is added advantage.
- Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.
- Experience working with revision control and issue tracking systems.
- Strong debugging and problem solving skills.
- Experience with motor control preferred.
- Independently able to handle tasks required to be carried for projects assigned.
- Knowledge of processes in ISO/CMMI preferred.
Reporting structure:
- Role will report into HOD Defense
Interactions:
- Internal Stakeholders: Project Managers and Mechanical Engineers, Program Manager, SCM team
- External Stakeholders: Customers/Clients
II. PEOPLE SPECIFICATIONS
Profile: Ideally
- ME / MTech / BE / BTech in Electronics / Communication Engineering with minimum 8 years of relevant work experience in Digital board design for wired and wireless communication
- Electrical harness design Experience according to industrial standard.
- Experience working on mobile robotics/defense autonomous systems and products would be added advantage
Requisites: Exposure to embedded system development in defense/automotive/electronic industry.
Competencies:
Technical:
- Strong in embedded hardware product design and support - Analog circuit (Op Amps, Filters, ADC, DAC's and Sensor), Digital Circuit - SPI, I2C & UART.
- Must have hands on experience linear / Switched Mode Power Supplies & drivers.
- Must have Experience in different type of motors and Motor controllers.
- Must have hands on experience on Electrical lab tools e.g. Oscilloscope, Multi-meter, function generator etc.
- Must have Experience in Electrical harness design tool.
- Should have hands on experience on hardware architecture design, feature & performance specifications, 8/16/32 bit micro-controllers based designs.
- Should have hands on experience in wireless hardware design for Wi-Fi, Zigbee and Bluetooth etc.
- Good knowledge on PCB design guidelines for SI, high speed design & EMI/EMC.
- Strong analytical skills
- Should have hands on experience on tools like ALTIUM, PADS, ORCAD, etc.
- Strong knowledge of EMI / EMC certification and environmental compliances UL /IEC / RoHS / REACH etc.
- Hands on experience on various Communication protocols like RS232, SPI, I2C, USB, Ethernet, wireless etc.
