Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and versatile Electronics Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a robust background in Automotive Electronics, with proven expertise in Designing, Editing, and Troubleshooting schematics & layouts for various automotive systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Comprehend and define hardware requirements for system and product development.
- Engage in conceptual studies by designing and constructing feasibility prototypes at the module or system level.
- Conduct circuit design, simulations, schematic entry, BOM management, PCB design, and layout reviews.
- Develop and maintain reusable schematic libraries.
- Perform BOM consolidation and end-of-life analysis, identifying suitable replacements.
- Analyze power distribution to ensure EMC interference-free and failure-proof circuits.
- Conduct hands-on testing at the circuit, module, and product levels to assess hardware performance.
- Generate detailed design and test documentation for developed designs.
- Address and resolve identified technical issues.
- Collaborate effectively with hardware, software, and mechanical development teams to deliver projects within set timelines.
- Participate in regular technical and project status meetings with both the India team and overseas teams.
- Conduct soldering, desoldering, and component changes on printed circuit board assemblies.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Automotive Electronics Product Development
- Proficient in schematic capture using tools such as OrCAD and Altium.
- Essential experience with DC-DC converters and LDOs for hardware design.
- Familiarity with analog circuit design and mixed-signal designs (Op-Amps, ADC/DAC, etc.).
- Knowledge of RF design and power electronics is highly advantageous.
- Proficiency in Signal Integrity (SI), Power Integrity (PI), and EMI/EMC design.
- Experienced in conducting DFMEA, FMEDA, reliability analysis, worst-case analysis (WCA), and component stress analysis.
- Proven experience in designing schematics for automotive electronics products (body electronics, powertrain, safety systems, steering systems).
- Strong capability in creating, editing, and troubleshooting electronics schematics and layouts.
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, and logic analyzers.
- Extensive experience in MCU-based schematic designs.
- Solid understanding of communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, LIN, J1850) and MCU bus protocols (I2C, SPI, UART (RS232), RS485).
- Expertise in designing ISO 26262 functional safety-compliant product schematics.
- Familiarity with IPC standards.
- Proficiency in Altium Designer or equivalent design software.
- Competent in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Experience with software configuration management systems.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication skills
Educational Qualifications:
Bachelor's or master's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, or equivalent.
