The Opportunity -
We're seeking a well-rounded engineer with a strong foundation in power electronics and battery-tech to spearhead the development of our EV power bank technology. The candidate will be at the forefront of product development, ensuring Quint's performance, safety, and efficiency. They will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our startup and make a lasting impact in the EV and energy industry.
Key Responsibilities -
- Lead the design and development of Quints power electronics architecture and battery-tech, ensuring efficiency, performance and safety.
- Prototype and optimize our proprietary power electronics architecture for high power output beyond 7kW.
- Coordinate with vendors and outsourced manufacturing partners to ensure the streamlined evolution of the product.
- Oversee the seamless integration of components including the battery, BMS, power electronics, and embedded systems into the final product.
- Assist in the setting up of the companys R&D Lab in Guwahati for power electronics and battery assembly.
- Drive continuous product improvement through rigorous testing and industry advancements.
It must be noted that while the above encapsulates the primary responsibilities of the role, you could be entrusted with other responsibilities from time to time that are fundamental for the company's growth.
Immediate Tasks -
- Rapidly prototype our proprietary circuit design for a 7.2kW system, managing the end-to-end process from component sourcing to PCB development.
- Assist in the setting up of our electronics R&D lab in Guwahati and hiring of key members of the engineering team.
- Conduct R&D into optimal battery-pack engineering and thermal management of the battery pack.
Key Qualifications -
- While we are more interested in your skills, strengths, and motivations, we recommend having a Masters degree or PhD in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
- 2-3 years experience in circuit design and development, PCB design and fabrication, familiarity with simulation and modeling softwares like KiCad, MATLAB, etc.
- Proven experience with battery technology, particularly lithium-chemistry is expected. Experience in assembling and handling battery packs, integrating Battery Management Systems (BMS) and Thermal Management Systems (TMS), and ensuring overall smooth functioning of batteries is appreciated.
- Deep understanding of power electronics, including AC/DC, DC/DC and DC/AC converters and inverters is essential.
- Solid foundation in embedded systems, including firmware development and control algorithms is an added advantage.
- Familiarity with industry standards and compliances for EV battery and charging systems. This will ensure that we are able to obtain the necessary certifications for our product.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
