Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrochemical Sensing PhD Specialist to join our dynamic research team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrochemistry and biosensors, with expertise in developing and optimizing electrochemical sensing platforms. This role involves contributing to the design, development, and validation of electrochemical biosensors for various biomedical and agricultural applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, fabricate, and characterize electrochemical sensing platforms for biomedical applications.
- Develop screening platforms for electrogenic bacteria and perform chronoamperometry measurements to assess current generation abilities.
- Investigate microbial fuel cells with electrogenic bacteria and compare performance metrics.
- Fabricate flexible substrates for electrochemical sensing applications.
- Develop biosensors for agricultural pathogen detection and prototype their integration into diagnostic tools.
- Microfabricate gold-interdigitated electrodes and conduct electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.
- Utilize potentiostats and electrochemical analyzers for data acquisition and analysis.
- Apply biomolecular techniques such as Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), DNA genomics, and electrophoresis in research projects.
- Synthesize and characterize biomaterials using ATR-FTIR analysis, Mass Spectrometry (MS), contact angle measurements, dynamic light scattering, scanning electron microscopy, and UV-visible spectroscopy.
- Apply expertise in Bio-nanotechnology, Microfluidics, Drug Delivery, Biomaterial Regeneration and Characterization, Immunology, Biosensors, and Nanotechnology to research and development projects.
- Develop gas sensors for agricultural applications and MEMS-based sensors for environmental monitoring.
- Conduct green synthesis of nanoparticles from bacteria, fungi, and plants, and explore their potential applications.
- Characterize nanomaterials and biofunctionalize surfaces for sensor applications.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, or related field with a specialization in electrochemical sensing.
- Extensive experience in developing and optimizing electrochemical biosensors.
- Hands-on expertise in electrochemical techniques including cyclic voltammetry, amperometry, and impedance spectroscopy.
- Proficiency in microfabrication techniques, particularly gold-interdigitated electrodes and flexible substrate fabrication.
- Strong background in biomolecular techniques (PCR, DNA genomics, electrophoresis) and biomaterial synthesis.
- Experience with potentiostats, electrochemical analyzers, and data analysis software.
- Familiarity with green synthesis of nanoparticles and their characterization.
- Knowledge of Bio-nanotechnology, Microfluidics, Drug Delivery, Biomaterial Regeneration and Characterization, Immunology, Biosensors, and Nanotechnology.
