Position: Electrician
Location: Chetput, Chennai
The Electrical C License Holder is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems within a power generation unit ranging from 10MW to 50MW. This role ensures that all electrical systems function efficiently and safely, adhering to all regulatory and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Operation and Maintenance:
- Operate and maintain electrical equipment and systems, including generators, transformers, switchgear, and control systems.
- Conduct regular inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor power generation systems to ensure they are operating within specified parameters and take corrective actions when necessary.
2.Troubleshooting and Repair:
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
- Perform corrective maintenance on electrical systems and components, including troubleshooting issues with wiring, circuits, and control systems.
- Coordinate with other technicians and engineers to resolve complex technical issues.
3.Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and safety standards.
- Implement and follow safety procedures to protect personnel and equipment.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
4.Technical Support:
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior technicians and other team members.
- Assist in the development and implementation of operational procedures and maintenance schedules.
5.Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of electrical system performance, maintenance activities, and any incidents or accidents.
- Prepare detailed reports on system performance, maintenance work, and operational issues.
- Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for tracking and documentation.
6.Emergency Response:
- Respond to emergency situations involving electrical systems and equipment.
- Participate in the development and implementation of emergency response plans.
7.Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in industrial environments, including climbing, lifting, and working in confined spaces.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in the operation and maintenance of electrical power generation equipment.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
