Job Description
At Husky Technologies, we are dedicated to fostering an environment of safety, sustainability, and well-being. As part of our commitment, we are seeking an experienced EHS Manager to spearhead our Environmental, Health & Safety initiatives and oversee food services for our staff of 1100. The ideal candidate will combine strategic leadership in EHS with hands-on expertise, reflecting a commitment to both broad vision and everyday operations.
In this role you will be responsible for both environmental health and safety leadership and providing hands-on EHS support for business operations. You will provide direct management and supervision to the local EHS team. You will plan and implement energy conservation initiatives as a member of a company-wide energy management team. You will identify and execute business transformation and continuous improvement initiatives in support of EHS strategies. You will proactively manage EHS spend throughout the fiscal cycle. In addition, you will interact with other EHS Managers to share best practices and collaborate on global processes and programs. You will be in our Indian headquarters in Chennai.
Responsibilities
- Environmental, Health & Safety Management
- Work with the Business Unit Managers to develop annual EHS objectives for operations.
- Initiate, manage and drive key projects related to EHS.
- Apply new EHS technologies or concepts to Husky facilities.
- Work with external agencies and regulatory authorities in developing safety measures.
- Assist with energy reduction projects that support greenhouse gas reductions and the company goal of carbon neutrality.
- Help maintain employee awareness of EHS management practices.
- Perform industrial hygiene testing.
- Develop and roll-out global EHS guidelines (best practice for specific hazards, accident reporting, and training requirements).
- Develop and roll-out gap analysis and audit tools for operations.
- Develop/implement EHS non-conformance plan.
- Performance measuring; preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual EHS performance reports.
- Lead and manage other related EHS project work as required.
- Directly manage and supervise the local EHS team at Husky Technologies.
- Be responsible for both strategic environmental health and safety leadership and hands-on EHS support for business operations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and programs in line with global standards.
- Ensure that Husky Technologies is in compliance with all local, national, and international regulations related to EHS standards.
- Collaborate with other EHS Managers globally to share best practices and ensure unified processes and programs.
- Identify and execute business transformation and continuous improvement initiatives in support of EHS strategies.
- Proactively manage EHS-related expenditures throughout the fiscal cycle, ensuring value for money and budget adherence.
- Drive continuous improvement in EHS performance at Husky Technologies, promoting a proactive safety culture. Oversee the management and delivery of food services at Husky Technologies to ensure the well-being of our staff.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards in the preparation and delivery of food.
- Coordinate with food vendors and caterers to maintain quality, variety, and dietary requirements. Oversee the management and delivery of food services at Husky Technologies to ensure the well-being of our staff.

- Facilitate EHS training programs for employees at Husky Technologies and ensure that all new hires undergo appropriate EHS orientation.
- Build positive working relationships with other teams and operational management structures to foster collaboration and support.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field
- EHS or equivalent experience, ideally within the machinery building industry.
- Relevant work experience in similar position/industry with leadership abilities.
- Proven track record of managing a team and successfully implementing EHS strategies.
- Fluent in risk assessment and crisis management.
- Occupational Hygiene is a definite asset.
- Knowledge of Indian Statutory regulations related to EHS standards.
- Proven ability to drive business transformation and continuous improvement in the realm of Operational activities.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to foster collaboration across various teams and levels of management.
- Takes pride in the quality of their work; has an eye for detail.
- Having experience in project management would be an asset.
- Possesses advanced strategic planning skills.
- Possesses strong analytical, problem solving and process mapping abilities.
- Is experienced with supplier negotiations.
- Able to easily build positive working relationships with other teams.
- Strong knowledge base of EHS management concepts.
- Ability to organize elements of the EHS management system.
- Superior planning, organizing, communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
- Experience implementing ISO-series standards.
- Experience with integration of a broad range of EHS elements into EHS program.
- Fluent in English.
- Fluency in Tamil is added advantage
