- Design: Create layouts for reports, catalogs, and other documents
- Editing: Edit graphics, such as photos and illustrations, and adjust text properties like size, spacing, and column width
- File preparation: Translate digital artwork into files that are ready for print or online publishing
- Proofing: Prepare proofs for approval and check final copy for accuracy
- Collaboration: Work with art directors, graphic designers, and others to develop projects
- Prioritization: Manage a varied workload and meet deadlines
- Organization: Follow filing systems and back up systems regularly
