Drone Intern

Job Summary:

A Drone Intern assists with the operation, maintenance, and data processing of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) used for various purposes like aerial mapping, surveying, inspections, filmmaking, agriculture, or research. Interns typically support more experienced drone pilots and engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with drone flight operations including pre-flight setup, mission planning, and post-flight data collection.

Support data analysis process aerial images or video, and help interpret the results using software like Pix4D, DroneDeploy, or GIS tools.

Maintain equipment perform basic checks and minor repairs on drones and related hardware.

Document flights maintain logs and reports for each operation (weather, flight time, purpose, issues).

Follow safety protocols ensure compliance with aviation regulations and internal safety procedures.

Required Qualifications:

Currently pursuing a degree in engineering, geography, environmental science, film, robotics, or a related field.

Bonus: Remote Pilot Certificate (Part 107 in the U.S.) or any basic drone flying experience.

Some internships may require a portfolio of drone footage or relevant projects.

Preferred Skills:

Basic knowledge of drone technology (DJI, Parrot, or custom drones).

Familiarity with flight planning tools or simulators.

Understanding of data processing tools (Photoshop, QGIS, AutoCAD, MATLAB, or similar depending on industry).

Interest in aerial photography, remote sensing, or robotics.

Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and a willingness to learn hands-on.
