We have an exciting opportunity for a Driver Manager to join our Bus Operations team at our Derby depot. This role is pivotal in ensuring our bus services meet customer needs and achieve performance targets efficiently and within budget.
Purpose of the Role: As a Driver Manager, you will contribute to the achievement of the site's annual business plan by managing the day-to-day operations of bus services. You will lead and motivate the operational teams, ensuring a safe, compliant, and continually improving customer and colleague experience. Promoting Arriva's values, you will foster an inclusive working environment reflective of the communities we serve.
Key Responsibilities
Health and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with all statutory health and safety obligations and Arriva's Health & Safety Management System.
- Act as the designated person for depot security and safe working practices.
Customer Service
- Deliver excellent service in line with stakeholder requirements, maintaining critical business relationships.
- Embrace partnerships with Local Authorities and ensure timely investigation and resolution of complaints.
People Management
- Develop a culture that embodies Arriva's values and promotes Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (ED&I).
- Ensure the site has the necessary resources, capabilities, and competence.
- Lead, manage, and motivate colleagues to maximize their contribution and ensure effective collaboration.
Operational Quality
- Lead the delivery of outstanding service and operational compliance.
- Utilize business performance management tools to engage teams and ensure excellent performance.
Financial And Decision-Making
- Contribute to the development of annual budgets and business plans.
- Maximize revenue, control costs, and continuously review financial performance.
Continual Improvement & Innovation
- Identify areas for improvement through innovation and act as a change agent.
- Implement best practices and drive operational excellence.
Corporate Social Responsibility
- Uphold and promote Arriva's reputation and values in all business relationships and activities.
Essential Requirements
- Qualified as a Transport Manager on the Operator's License.
- Proven track record in managing an operational facility with relevant P&L ownership.
- Experience working with Trade Unions.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in managing high-performing teams.
- Background in a customer-facing environment with a focus on customer satisfaction and dispute resolution.
- Demonstrable experience in creating a safe and continuously improving working environment.
