Job Overview
The Draftsman plays a crucial role in our organization, as they are responsible for creating technical drawings and plans that are essential for the design and construction of various projects. They work closely with engineers and architects to translate concepts into detailed drawings, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Create precise and detailed technical drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software such as AutoCAD
- Collaborate with engineers and architects to understand project requirements and translate concepts into accurate drawings
- Review and modify drawings to ensure adherence to project specifications and applicable standards
- Prepare multiple versions of designs in response to feedback from engineers and architects
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of all drawings and plans
- Communicate with the project team to collect relevant information and resolve design issues
- Participate in site visits and meetings to gather project details and discuss design requirements
- Provide support in the creation of technical documentation and manuals
- Assist in the preparation of material quantity and cost estimates
- Maintain drawing databases and ensure proper documentation and version control
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or certification in drafting or a related field
- Proven experience working as a draftsman in a relevant industry
- Proficiency in using CAD software, particularly AutoCAD
- Strong understanding of technical drawing principles and standards
- Ability to interpret and create detailed technical drawings and plans
- Attention to detail and accuracy in work
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Knowledge of construction methods and materials
- Understanding of building codes and regulations
