Purpose of Role:
The Dispatch Executive is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the timely pick-up and delivery of finished goods from the manufacturing facility to customers or distribution centers. This role ensures efficient fleet dispatch operations to meet customer delivery requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and schedule dispatch routes, loads, and delivery sequences to optimize efficiency and minimize costs.
- Coordinate with production teams to estimate completion times for orders and ensure aligned pick-up schedules.
- Track inventory levels of finished goods and raw materials to anticipate dispatch requirements.
- Monitor vehicle locations and statuses using GPS and logistics software.
- Communicate with drivers regarding pick-up times, routing information, delays and changes.
- Resolve any complaints from customers regarding late deliveries or damaged goods.
- Maintain dispatch documentation including goods received, proof of delivery, and vehicle checklists.
- Analyze performance metrics and look for ways to improve dispatch productivity.
- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and safety protocols.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Dispatch Executive or similar logistics coordination role.
- Knowledge of transportation management systems and logistics processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and people management skills.
- High level of attention to detail and organization.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and tight deadlines.
- Strong knowledge of logistics networks, routes and vehicle capacities.
- Familiarity with fleet maintenance and safety standards.
- Proficiency in MS Office and logistics management software.
