Job Summary :
The Director - Repairs & Refurbishment acts as the Head of the department - Repairs & Refurbishment within company's Operations organization. She/he is responsible for managing end-to-end repairs & refurbishment operations for Electrolyser system parts that flow-in from the customer installations, and after repairs/refurbishment flow-out to the customer installations, contract manufacturers or regional refurbishment hubs. Primary responsibilities include management of day-to-day operations of the Repairs & Refurbishment Centre and overseeing the repairs operations undertaken by the regional hubs is in conjunction with the field service teams. The incumbent will work internally with manufacturing, engineering, quality, field services, material planning, purchasing and logistics teams to meet the corporate KPIs (Quality, On-time Delivery and Cost) related to repairs & refurbishment operations.
Roles and Responsibilities :
- Develops and implements the Repairs & Refurbishment strategy for Electrolyser parts that flow-in to the repairs centre (as site returns) from Ohmium's worldwide fleet of Electrolysers, and flow-out (as repaired/refurbished parts) to the customer installations via Ohmium's Parts Distribution Centres.
- Manages the daily operations of Ohmium's in-house Repairs & Refurbishment centre for Electrolyser stacks.
- Oversees (in collaboration with the SCM team) the repairs of power electronics and control boxes at our contract manufacturers.
- Develops and implements the repairs & refurbishment processes in collaboration with Engineering, Manufacturing and SCM teams.
- Plans and tracks the budget for Repairs & Refurbishment operations.
- Recruits skilled repair shop supervisors and technicians to efficiently carry out the day-to-day work at the repair centre.
- Develops employees by providing regular feedback, conducting performance reviews and by supporting with learning & development interventions.
- Efficiently utilizes company's IT systems (ERP, MES, PLM) for the repair operations and fleet data management.
- Complies with company's policies and regulatory standards on Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) at the Repairs & Refurbishment centres.
Education and Experience Required :
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical or electronics).
- Master of Business Administration in operations/supply chain management ispreferred.
- Minimum 15 years of work experience in repairs and refurbishment role in a manufacturing industry (automotive, industrial goods, electrical or electronics appliances, power equipment).
- 5-7 years experience managing a repair center is a big plus.2-3 years experience executing field product performance (field repair, maintenance, and diagnostics) is a big plus.
- Excellent interpersonal, written/oral communication skills and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Manufacturing Execution System (MES) software is preferred.
