Position: Director of the Law School
Location: IILM University, Gurgaon
Position Summary:
IILM University is seeking a dynamic and visionary leader for the position of Director of the Law School. The ideal candidate will be a Professor of Practice with a minimum of 15 years of experience in the legal profession, combining practical expertise with a passion for legal education. While a PhD in Law is preferred, substantial industry experience and demonstrated professional achievements in the legal field are essential. The Director will be responsible for setting the strategic direction for the Law School, enhancing its reputation, fostering industry linkages, and ensuring the academic quality and professional development of students and faculty.
Key Responsibilities:-
- Strategic Leadership - Provide visionary leadership to develop and implement the strategic plan for the Law School, aligned with IILM Universitys mission and goals.
- Academic Excellence - Oversee the academic curriculum to ensure it is relevant, up-to-date, and integrates practical knowledge with legal theory. Promote research and innovative teaching methodologies within the law school.
- Industry Linkages - Build and strengthen relationships with legal firms, industry professionals, government agencies, and corporate sectors to ensure a strong network for internships, placements, and collaborative opportunities.
- Faculty Development - Lead recruitment, mentoring, and professional development of faculty members, ensuring a balanced mix of industry experience and academic excellence.
- Student Success - Drive initiatives that enhance student engagement, practical learning, and employability. Support students personal and professional development through internships, placements, and legal clinics.
- Accreditation and Compliance - Ensure the Law School adheres to accreditation standards and compliance with regulatory and legal bodies in India and internationally.
Key Qualifications:-
- Professor of Practice with a recognized degree in law (LLB, LLM, or equivalent). A PhD in Law is preferred but not mandatory.
- 15+ years of experience in the legal profession, with a proven record of practice in the industry.
- Strong industry linkages and networks within the legal profession, government, and corporate sectors.
- Demonstrated ability to build industry-academic partnerships and enhance employability outcomes for students.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to represent the law school both internally and externally.
- A strategic thinker with a commitment to excellence in legal education and student development.
