Roles and responsibilities:
- Develop a comprehensive strategic plan for the law school based on the core pillars, university's mission and long-term goals.
- Identify emerging legal fields and trends in the international legal landscape with high potential for student success and global impact.
- Establish clear roadmaps and key performance indicators (KPIs) for measuring the success of the internationalization initiatives, including student outcomes, faculty engagement, and global recognition.
- Lead the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and infrastructure to support faculty and students in international legal scholarship, research, and practice.
- Foster collaboration with international legal institutions and organizations to enhance the law school's global reach and offerings.
- Faculty management
- Increase student participation in international exchange programs, moot court competitions, and research collaborations.
- Secure funding for scholarships, fellowships, and programs that attract talented students and faculty.
- Explore offering online or blended learning programs in specialized areas of law to reach a global audience.
- Develop innovative funding models to support initiatives, such as partnerships with international law firms and organizations.
- Participate in and improve the law school's ranking in international law school rankings.
- Host conferences, symposia, and workshops that address global legal issues and attract international audiences.
- Encourage and support faculty to publish research in internationally recognized legal journals.
- Build strong relationships with legal professionals and institutions around the world to enhance the law school's global reputation.
- Actively engage with government agencies and legal institutions to promote international legal education and exchange programs.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in law from a top-tier university.
- Minimum 15 years of progressively responsible experience in leadership and administration, preferably in a higher education setting with a proven track record of research excellence.
- International experience of 5+ years required
- A documented history of securing significant external funding for research endeavours, evidenced by successful grant proposals and funding awards.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and mentor researchers at all levels.
