Job Description
Procore is looking for a Director of Engineering, Mobile to lead an expansion that is both strategic and unlocks future business models for Procore. Construction is undergoing a transformation where owners are demanding a more iterative and collaborative design-build process that pairs what it looks like (Design) and what it costs (constructability). Formerly disconnected teams and technologies have kept the construction industry from realizing the efficiency and trust that technology can empower. The Collaboration division will be providing common, and consistent systems and tools that draw people together and maximize outcomes across construction teams and companies in Procore.
As Director of Engineering, you'll lead multiple teams to architect and implement the right combination of technologies, tools, and methods to achieve favorable financial returns while meeting strategic objectives. You'll be the site leader in India for complete Field Solution Apps. While thinking through long term sustainability, resiliency and scale, you would be leading trade off decisions of delivering early customer value. You will have the opportunity to help us uplevel and transform our people, processes, and technologies to build Procore as a globe-spanning exemplar of engineering excellence while solving for the future of Collaboration.
This position will report to our Senior Director of Engineering, Field Solutions and has the opportunity to work in the Bangalore, India office. We're looking for someone to join our team immediately.
What you'll do:
Work in tandem with Product and Design teams to review various levers that accelerate our product and technology strategies and deliver scalable, maintainable, and secure solutions to our customers
Integrate vision between Web and Field devices while considering new data opportunities at construction job sites for different personas
Collaborate with senior leaders across Procore to define and execute a compelling vision. Work with these leaders to make pragmatic trade-offs on staffing and prioritizing initiatives
Partner with senior engineering and technical leaders on org-wide initiatives that are both technical and cultural in nature
Build awareness, increase knowledge and drive adoption of modern technologies, industry innovations, trends and architecture patterns, sharing customer and engineering benefits to gain buy-in
Improve and expand the team by attracting, developing, and retaining high-performing talent who excel within a diverse and inclusive environment
Promote an environment that fosters high-quality, metrics-driven experimentation and leads to impactful improvements
What we're looking for:
BS degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience is required
15+ years experience in leading Engineering organizations both domestically and internationally. Test Driven Development and Design principles for web and hybrid enterprise mobile applications for several mobile platforms (iOS/Android/Windows)
Effectively communicate with and influence key stakeholders across the enterprise, at all levels of the organization and promote a culture of engineering excellence and being well-managed, using opportunities to reuse and innersource solutions where possible
Demonstrated history of building strong cross-functional relationships and influence, inspiring and leading teams throughout the organization
Experience in leading an organization through a period of change management
A strategic mindset to drive vision and purpose, see ahead to future possibilities, and can translate them into breakthrough strategies
Driven operational transformation through automation and continuous process improvements
Proven track record of distilling ambiguity to clarity and direction
