We recently acquired Userflow to make foray into Product Onboarding and Analytics space

About the Role: As the Director of Engineering, you'll lead our team in creating cutting-edge software, defining our engineering vision, and collaborating closely with the product team to bring new features to life. You'll build and nurture a high-performing engineering team, set clear goals, and ensure we're at the forefront of building tools for product and growth teams. If you have a track record of leadership, experience in startups, and a knack for translating complex ideas into simple terms, this role is for you.

Our ideal candidate is someone who can guide their team to deliver high-quality software on time and within budget. You have a deep understanding of software development methodologies, programming languages, and can articulate complicated concepts in layman terms. A helpful strength you have is a balance between working collaboratively and autonomously, spearheading the engineering team towards results.

You will report directly to CTO, you'll be a key proponent of Beamer and Userflow continued growth and play key part in shaping the success of our products, as well as the onsite location and team in Coimbatore.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the engineering team in developing and delivering Beamer and Userflow's products.
• Work with the product team to define and implement the technical requirements for new products and features
• Take ownership of Platform KPIs - Uptime, Latency, Error Rate, SLA/SLOs etc etc
• Define, Own and Oversee automation processes - CI, CD, Continuous Verification etc
• Define, Own and Measure Platform KPIs high-availability (fault tolerance), scalability, deployability, testability, and maintainability of both existing and new SKUs
• Build and manage Engineering, infrastructure, QA, reliability orgs - both in-person and distributed teams. This includes hiring, training, and developing engineers, as well as creating a positive and productive work environment
• Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and customer support, to ensure that our products meet the needs of our customers
• Build Strong Foundation for Scale - 10x Users, 20x Event Volume, Low Latency, High Throughput APIs
• Ensure all products and services are secure and compliant with all applicable regulations

Requirements

• 10-15+ years of experience in engineering, with at least 4 years in a leadership role
• Experience with creating, scaling existing and new Pods, Teams and Products
• Experience scaling a SaaS or Consumer Product , 2-30mn ARR or 1-20 millon DAUs
• Experience working with growing (Series A to Series C) startups in a fast-paced environment
• Strong engineering background with experience designing high scale apps, designing/implementing/documenting REST APIs, GraphQL and third party integrations
• Ability to coordinate with cross functional teams abroad (mainly US) and report back to leadership efficiently
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a high-performing engineering team
• Oversee resource allocation, workload management, and recruitment efforts to scale the team effectively
• Ability to root-case and assist team to solve problems across the stack - Frontend, Backend, Infrastructure, Release Ops etc
• Deep understanding of Cloud Infrastructure and DevOps practices - prior experience with Kubernetes and terraform is a plus
• Deep understanding of software development methodologies, programming languages, and cloud computing platforms
• Experience with artificial intelligence and machine learning (desired but not required)
