The Financial Control Group (FCG) is responsible for overseeing the accounting, financial and regulatory reporting for the Firm. FCG prepares external financial reports for public filings and regulators. For internal reporting FCG, along with Financial Planning and Analysis (FPA), summarizes, plans and forecasts the organizations financial position, including income statements, balance sheets, and analysis of future revenues, expenses and earnings. FCG is comprised of Business Unit Controllers, Infrastructure Controllers, Accounting, Regulatory and Reporting groups, and Valuation Review.
Team Profile
The Risk & Controls team is part of the Institutional Equity Division Business Unit Controllers Group (IED GPC) and is responsible for managing the governance of GPCs internal controls framework. The team support Finance Management in assessing operational risk and provide risk metrics in their reviews with regulators.
Specific Responsibilities
- Production of weekly and monthly key risk metrics reports for IED GPC on a regional and global basis
- Analyze key risk indicators and contribute to the monthly metrics data coordination effort
- Working with Controllers to understand persistent issues
- Involvement in the analysis and delivery of risk deep dives and corresponding initiatives
- Participation in IED risk-related forums
- Working with representatives from other risk functions to ensure consistency of reporting
Qualifications & Skills Required
- Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant (either ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) or MBA
- Strong Analytical Skills
- Excellent organisational and relationship management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must be highly motivated with the commitment required to consistently meet goals (ability to work both independently and as an effective team member)
- Strong controls awareness
- Financial Products knowledge essential
- Proficient in MS Office, specifically a strong command in Excel and PowerPoint (including vlookups)
