Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Dim Sum Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Chinese cuisine, with specific expertise in the art of dim sum preparation and presentation. The Dim Sum Chef will be responsible for creating a diverse range of dim sum dishes, maintaining high standards of quality and consistency, and contributing to menu development.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook a variety of dim sum dishes, including but not limited to dumplings, buns, rolls, and desserts.
Ensure all dim sum dishes are cooked and presented according to established recipes and standards of quality.
  • Monitor food inventory and order supplies as needed to maintain adequate stock levels.
Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new and innovative dim sum recipes and menu offerings.
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff on proper dim sum preparation techniques and presentation methods.
Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times.
  • Assist with special events and catering functions as required.
Stay updated on current culinary trends and techniques related to dim sum cuisine.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Dim Sum Chef or relevant role in a high-volume restaurant environment.
Extensive knowledge of Chinese cuisine, particularly dim sum, with a strong focus on flavor profiles and traditional cooking methods.
  • Culinary degree or certification from a recognized culinary institution is preferred.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment, demonstrating excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for creating visually stunning and delicious dim sum dishes.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with the capacity to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and management.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
