Our new Diabetes Care Pod is designed to provide comprehensive diabetes care, including management, prevention, and remission programs. We are looking for a dedicated Diabetologist to join our team and help lead this new initiative.
Job Overview
As a Diabetologist, you will play a crucial role in managing and guiding patients on their journey to better diabetes management and potential remission. You will collaborate with our nutritionists, diabeteseducators, fitness experts, and coaches to create tailored, evidence-based treatment plans for individuals with Type 1, Type 2, and gestational diabetes, as well as those at risk of developing diabetes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert medical consultation and diagnosis for patients with diabetes and pre-diabetes.
- Develop personalized treatment and management plans focusing on medication adjustments, lifestyle changes, and patient education.
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, including nutritionists, dietitians, fitness coaches, and diabetes educators, to ensure comprehensive care.
- Monitor and adjust patient medications, including insulin therapy, oral hypoglycemics, and other treatment options.
- Guide patients through the diabetes remission process, when applicable, and provide support for insulin tapering or cessation.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest research, treatments, and innovations in diabetes care and apply evidence-based practices to patient care.
- Conduct teleconsultations and virtual follow-ups to ensure continuous patient care.
- Actively contribute to developing HealthifyMe's Diabetes Care Pod programs, protocols, and standard operating procedures.
- Participate in case discussions, medical rounds, and team meetings.
- Provide input and feedback on patient education materials and resources, ensuring they are up-to-date and relevant.
- Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to help communicate the value of HealthifyMe's diabetes programs to a broader audience.
Qualifications and Skills
- MBBS with specialization in Endocrinology, Diabetology, or equivalent (DNB/MD).
- Board certification as a Diabetologist or Endocrinologist is required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working in diabetes management or related fields.
- Proven expertise in managing patients with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, as well as gestational diabetes.
- Strong knowledge of insulin therapy, continuous glucose monitoring (CGM), and other diabetes management tools.
- Experience in managing lifestyle interventions, including nutrition and physical activity, as part of diabetes care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex medical concepts to non-medical team members and patients.
- Experience in telemedicine or virtual care is preferred.
- Familiarity with current research and developments in diabetes care and technology.
