The Azure DevOps/Infrastructure Engineer will design, implement, and manage continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and oversee the management, optimisation, and scaling of our customers Azure cloud infrastructure. This role combines DevOps best practices with comprehensive infrastructure management to support seamless, scalable, and efficient cloud solutions in Azure.
Key Responsibilities:
- CI/CD Pipeline Development and Management:
- Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps for automated application deployment.
- Collaborate with development and QA teams to integrate automated testing, code quality checks, and deployment processes.
- Ensure pipelines are optimised for speed, reliability, and security, supporting a fast-paced release cycle.
- Infrastructure Management and Optimisation:
- Manage, monitor, and maintain cloud infrastructure resources within Azure, ensuring high availability and security.
- Implement and optimise Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like ARM Templates, Terraform, or Bicep to provision, manage, and scale Azure resources.
- Perform regular cost optimisation by monitoring usage, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and implementing Azure cost-management best practices.
- Monitoring and Performance Tuning:
- Set up and manage monitoring solutions (e.g., Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics) to ensure proactive detection and resolution of issues.
- Optimise infrastructure and application performance by identifying bottlenecks and fine-tuning configurations.
- Work with application and database teams to optimise deployments and improve service performance.
- Security and Compliance:
- Implement security best practices, including identity and access management, network security, and compliance standards.
- Conduct regular audits, manage vulnerabilities, and implement security measures across Azure resources.
- Collaborate with InfoSec and compliance teams to ensure alignment with organisational security standards.
- Collaboration and Support:
- Act as a technical advisor to development and QA teams, providing guidance on DevOps and infrastructure solutions.
- Troubleshoot deployment and infrastructure issues, providing support for a rapid resolution of production incidents.
- Document processes, configurations, and procedures to support knowledge transfer and operational consistency.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Technical Skills:
- Azure Expertise: Proficiency in Microsoft Azure, including services such as Azure DevOps, Azure App Services, Azure SQL, Virtual Networks, Storage Accounts, and Active Directory.
- CI/CD Tools: Extensive experience with Azure DevOps (Pipelines, Repos, Artifacts), GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Strong hands-on experience with ARM templates, Terraform, or Bicep for managing infrastructure.
- Scripting and Automation: Proficiency in PowerShell, Python, or Bash for scripting and automation.
Experience:
- DevOps and Cloud Management: Minimum 3+ years of experience in a DevOps role with a focus on Azure cloud solutions.
- Infrastructure Management: Proven experience in managing, optimising, and scaling cloud infrastructure.
- Performance and Cost Optimisation: Demonstrated success in optimising performance, troubleshooting, and managing Azure costs.
- Security and Compliance: Experience implementing cloud security best practices and working within compliance frameworks.
Soft Skills:
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach to identifying and solving issues.
- Collaboration: Ability to work cross-functionally with development, QA, and security teams.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively document processes and communicate complex technical concepts.

- Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect
