Job Description
What you'll be doing
- Be the first line of defense and operational support for internal / external users.
- Monitor AWS cloud-based and premise-based production systems, to ensure the availability, performance, scalability, and security of production systems.
- Responsible for all SSL Certificate renewals/ decommissioning and provisioning.
- Support CI/CD Pipelines across all environments (Travis/Jenkins/AWS CodeBuild/AWS CodePipeline)
- Proactively work with Engineering and IT users to ensure proper monitoring is in place within applications.
- Take initiative to partner with stakeholders to create and maintain runbook documentation and procedures.
- Assist Engineering teams to support Security vulnerability management (patching)
- Keep management informed of status on all issues, projects, and initiatives.
- Advanced knowledge across all Enterprise monitoring tools employed by ECS TOC.
- Understand ECS Business and all IT applications and services that could impact customers.
Qualifications
- 2 years experience in a technical operations role.
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Experience in CI/CD Pipelines and how to leverage them properly to ensure minimum impact to production systems
- Experience with infrastructure as code
- Experience in scripting languages - Python, Bash, Ansible
- Knowledge of Linux/Microsoft OS (RHEL, Amazon Linux, Ubuntu)
- Knowledge with AWS Cloud Infrastructure (EC2, CloudFormation, ELB/ALB, AWS WAF, Lambda, DynamoDB etc.)
- Exceptional working knowledge of modern IT monitoring systems such as: Splunk, AWS CloudWatch, and DataDog.
- Exceptional working knowledge of modern IT operations systems/tools such as: Atlassian Confluence, Atlassian Jira, Atlassian Statuspage, and xMatters.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, are essential. Fluent in English.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, e-commerce environment
- Ability to work across global teams and working with different cultures across different time zones

- Ability to develop, document, and publish operational processes and procedures.
- Ability to mentor junior staff.
- Must be a self-starter and require minimal guidance / leadership.
- Ability to work well under pressure is critical.
