Design Engineer

As a Mechanical/ Structural Designer Engineer will be an integral part of our engineering and product development team. You will be responsible for creating innovative and efficient mechanical designs for our products, ensuring they meet both functional and aesthetic requirements. Your expertise will contribute to the successful realization of our projects and the continued growth of our company.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conceptual Design: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to generate creative and feasible design concepts for new products, taking into consideration of factors such as functionality, Design Codes, Material Selection, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.

2. CAD & 3D Modelling: Utilize industry-standard CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.) to create detailed 2D, 3D part models and assembly drawings of mechanical components and create cutting sheet metal plans.

3. Prototyping: Work closely with the production/prototyping team to design, build and test physical prototypes of designs, making necessary design adjustments based on testing results.

4. Materials and Manufacturing: Selection of appropriate materials and manufacturing processes while considering factors like cost, durability, and sustainability.

5. Documentation: Create comprehensive design documentation, including technical drawings, bill of materials (BOM), and material specifications according to job priorities.

6. Resource allocation & planning: Knowledge of fabrication and manufacturing processes to select and plan materials, machinery and items required for production on priority.

7. Cost Optimization: Continuously seek opportunities to optimize design solutions to reduce production costs without compromising quality.

8. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all designs meet relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.

9. Project Management: Manage design projects & design team, adhering to timelines and budgets, and provide regular updates to stakeholders.

Skills Required:

• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
• Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with design analysis and simulation tools is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Location: Chennai

Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering/Structural Engineering or a related field

CTC : 4L to 5L

Experience: 3 to 5 years

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 32,000.00 - 42,000.00 per month
