Job Title: Tool Design Engineer

Department: Design

Reports To: Design & NPD Manager

Location: Peenya, Bangalore

Key Responsibilities:1) Check feasibility of enquires and Costing Estimate of press tool.

2) Understand the drawing and tolerance.

3) Find out critical parameter in part drawing and identify of criticality of manufacturing process. (TFRR& DFM)

4) Stamping Process layout & Tool assembly concept & review with technical team

5) Detailed drawing for manufacturing & Final BOM for child parts list.

6) Tool Trails and debugging

7) ECR & ECN Management: Handle Engineering Change Requests (ECR) and Engineering Change Notes (ECN), ensuring timely improvements for production efficiency.

8) Reverse Engineering: Propose design improvements to streamline production and modify existing tools for increased efficiency.

9) Gauge & Fixtures Design: Design gauges and fixtures in collaboration with the QA team to ensure customer requirements are met.

10) Transfer to Production: Ensure smooth transfer of tools to the mass production team through thorough design documentation.

Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, product design, or a related field.

Experience: 8-12 years of hands-on experience in tool design.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in CAD software, GD&T, PFMEA, APQP, PPAP, and DFMEA. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvements.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

Certifications: Six Sigma certification or project management experience is a plus.
