Overview
The Design Engineer plays a crucial role within our organization by contributing to the development and implementation of new products and technologies. This position is key to driving innovation and maintaining our competitive edge in the market. The Design Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality, cost-effective designs for our manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting research and analysis to develop and refine product designs
- Utilizing CAD software to create detailed technical drawings and specifications
- Collaborating with the product development team to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability
- Participating in design reviews and providing input for continuous improvement
- Performing structural and thermal analysis to validate design integrity
- Managing design documentation and version control
- Working closely with vendors and suppliers to select and source materials and components
- Participating in prototype testing and validation
- Supporting the transition of designs from concept to production
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project timelines and deliverables
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the design engineering function
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Proven experience in design engineering within a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in CAD software and design tools
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and materials
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Knowledge of project management principles and practices
- Experience with design validation and testing methodologies
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements for product design
- Understanding of cost analysis and optimization in design processes
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and project requirements
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in design documentation
- Continuous learning and adaptation to new technologies and industry trends
Candidates with minimum 4 years of experience in 2D,3D, Solidworks, DFX drawings and confessions.
Work Location : SIPCOT Industrial Estate, Sriperumbudur.
