Job Summary:
- The Surface Engineering Manufacturing Design Engineers (MDE) are responsible for the development and implementation of crucial Surface finishing processes during our prototype development builds through high volume production.
Key Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience supporting new product launches from a manufacturing engineering or product development perspective Experience with fabricating parts or jigs, fixtures, tooling, injection molding, plastics, ceramics, metas Proven understanding of Design of Experiment [DOE], GD&T, SPC and mechanical fabrication techniques.
- CAD experience for part and fixture design Hands on experience and understanding of Surface treatment and surface finishing processes like Polishing, Tumbling, Blasting, Lapping, Grinding, plasma process, cleaning and fine material removal technologies. Ability to set up and troubleshoot Surface finishing processes to control surface roughness, color, glossiness and provide corrective actions to achieve the design specification.
- Experience with different cleaning technologies and process optimization. Hands-on experience in data collection and analysis using JMP, Minitab & Six Sigma experience is a plus Experience with DFM (Design for Manufacturing) feedback to industrial or product design teams to optimize a design for surface engineering processes. Good experience of on-site build support and work from OEM factories.
- A team player who is self-motivated, results oriented and detailed oriented. Ability and willingness to work independently and travel frequently (mainly in India)
