We are a team of experience designers with expertise in visual design, UX, interaction design, content design, and research. We partner closely with editorial, product management, engineering, and business partners to strategize, design, and launch effective and beautiful digital products. About the Role:
We are looking for a strategic and highly collaborative senior design leader to connect the dots across our Revenue teams, creating a holistic approach to all things monetisation. This person will partner with senior leadership across Product, Technology, Data, Program Management, Consumer Revenue, Consumer Marketing, and Commercial to build strong revenue capabilities, driving business and design strategies that deliver ambitious growth targets for our brands.
This role is based in Cond Nast's Bengaluru office, and will report directly to the Global VP of Design based in London. There are equivalent Senior Design Director roles in the org, so collaboration and creative strategizing with your counterparts is also key to the success of this role.
About You:
- 8+ years related work experience leading the design of digital experiences at consumer-facing technology companies
- Experience in commerce, subscription, and/or advertising products in which design has directly impacted KPIs, along with a good technical understanding of the key technologies and workflows in these spaces
- Experience designing, building, and shipping across web and mobile products, whilst working in an agile cross-functional environment
- Proven ability to create experiences that scale to other brands, products, or markets
- Experience partnering with multiple teams to design and deliver a coherent and seamless end-to-end customer experience
- Experience designing for both the internal and external customer: designing internal workflows and tools, as well as the end-user experience for external customers
- Established approach to framing and solving hard problems, creating clarity for your team and alignment around a path forward
- Experience leading design teams, with an exceptional track record of empowering and managing teams of designers to help them grow and succeed
- Experience representing Design and design thinking to senior stakeholders up to the executive level
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills to clearly communicate and lead diverse, multi-disciplinary teams
- Mastery of the craft of user experience design, including usability and accessibility principles, user research methodology, testing techniques (A/B, Multi-Variant), design theory, and interaction design
- Preferred Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience
- Willingness to roll up your sleeves and get things done, taking smart risks and championing new ideas
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Design functions for Revenue: You'll spearhead the design approach across Revenue teamsCommerce, Subscriptions & Memberships, and Commercial Advertisingto find elegant and effective ways of integrating monetization into our brand experiences.
- Partner cross functionally: You'll partner withProduct and Engineering leadership, as well as senior stakeholders across Data, Consumer Revenue, Consumer Marketing, and Commercial, to define and deliver the future of our monetization strategy. You'll balance delivering the day to day, whilst articulating a longer term vision.
- Embed an insights-driven approach: In collaboration with partners on the UX Research team, Product Analytics, and Audience Development, you'll lead your team in employing qualitative and quantitative findings to develop a deep understanding of our customers, their motivations and pain points. You'll be able to draw sophisticated, actionable insights to inform design direction.
- Lead a flexible and user-centered design process: You'll be an expert in running a user-centered design process, collaborating with partners on your cross-functional teams to understand the needs of the teams and establish a structure, and end-to-end workflows designed to best serve those needs. You'll be able to tailor and flex your approach to the needs of fast moving, complex projects.
- Be responsible for end-to-end experience: You'll be responsible for the end-to-end customer journeys that inform new revenue capabilities and support key business goals and metrics. You'll steer the holistic view of your product suite across integration points (customer and technical) to provide a superior seamless product experience from daily improvements to longer-term strategies.
- Communicate to a gold standard: With multiple projects running in parallel and numerous partners and stakeholders across teams, you'll be a strong and effective communicator both within your own team and across the company.
- Manage and mentor your team: You'll empower your global team of product designers, fostering a cohesive, committed, passionate, productive, and positive environment. You'll set them up for success and give them the mentorship they need to grow in their careers.
