Job Purpose:
The incumbent will be part of the Legal-IPR team and will provide legal support to the internal stakeholders in their line of business on all intellectual property rights related matters (including patents, trademarks, designs & copyrights).
Key Responsibilities:
The Incumbent will be required:
- To partner with and support the local & international technology center, product developments,
- marketing, branding/ Business teams on patents, designs/design patents, and copyright matters
- of the Company.
- Overall Ability to manage stakeholders and work with global law firms on IPR matters and issues
- including relating to the patents, designs and trademarks.
- Ability to support and provide strategy in patents, designs, trademarks and Copyright matters,
- including in carrying out the various types of searches like prior art searches, Freedom to Operate
- (FTOs), patentability, claims and infringement analysis etc.
- Experienced in the drafting and vetting of patent specifications/applications;
- Risk assessment on IPR.
- Experienced in handling IP related litigations and on IP enforcement matters (like enforcement of
- patents, designs, trademarks and copyrights, including in suits of infringement and passing off &
- invalidation actions), domain name related disputes/matters.
- Experienced in the drafting and vetting of technology related agreements and contracts. Should
- have some experience and knowledge in the assignment/licensing of IPR and transactional work
- involving IP rights
- Maintenance and timely Renewal and Protection of patents, designs and trademarks.
- Negotiation with third parties with good drafting skills.
Education: LLB and the science degrees are a must
Experience:
- Should have 7 to 10 years or more of post-qualification experience as a IP/ patent lawyer in a reputable IP law firm, or in-house
- experience with the legal department, preferably in a multinational company
- Should have expertise in handling IPR related matters (patents, designs, trademarks), from filing for registration of IP to handling disputes
- in various jurisdictions
- Sound legal knowledge and analytical approach to legal issues (exposure to project management)
- Strong communication and drafting skills and fluency in English (both written and oral).
- Able to work in the team
- Good interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
- Must be excellent in MS office and comfortable with new technology
- Work experience in the Electric Vehicle and automobile Industry is good but not mandatory.
