Education: Full time Bachelors / Masters in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics, ECE, EEE, Instrumentation, Manufacturing) -Degree/Course/certification in Reliability / Value Engineering (SAVE International/VM) is an added advantage
Purpose of the Role
- Product Reliability Engineer participates actively during design projects to define reliability goals of the product, define Test plan, drive Design for Reliability and act as a lead to ascertain Product Life / Warranty aspects which are requested by customer on many of our products
- This role cuts across product lines and factories for driving Reliable product design across RRL portfolio and support in making robust products
- This role can also possibly be utilized to assess process reliability aspects on new assembly lines or to improve the existing ones providing critical expertise in this area by ensuring repeatability and reproducibility aspects
- This role is also requires Value/Cost Engineering of existing products to identify & implement opportunities to
improve value or save costs / improve margins in products

Job Description/Qualification
1.Drive for Design for Reliability (DFR) requirements
2.Perform Predictive analysis to assess potential risks through DFMEA during product design proactively to establish product life
3.Develop Reliability Sampling plan calculator and deploy for RRL products
4.Develop Reliability Test Plan for both new design and based on customer requirements
5.Lead Accelerating Life Testing for key products (HALT, HASS)
6.Provides expertise in assessing reliability aspects in Mechanical, Electrical and multi-disciplinary products
7.Conduct Reliability Testing for both in-house and externally developed products
8.Drive Design Robustness principles in new product development
9.Interface with Quality / Warranty manager and provide test support to define product warranty aspects.
10.Assess customer complaints/field failures related to early product failures, determine root cause and define corrective actions
11.Ensure process Repeatability & Reproducibility for critical new product design/development processes
12.Interface with product teams to identify, track and implement projects for product cost saving opportunities through design changes (through materials, processes, design etc)
13.Familiar with SAVE methodology and deploy the process in the organization
14.Carry out should cost assessment for new product designs
15.Experience in simulations tools/methods/techniques related Product Reliability and Value/Cost Engineering
16.Extensive experience in Lean/Six Sigma/Reliability/Statistical processes and Methodology
17.Expertise in Root Cause Analysis to assess product failures/customer complaints
