Deputy manager Design & Development

We are on the lookout of Deputy Manager Design & Development who has experience in product design(Hydraulics, pumps)

Responsibilities

Lead product design projects (NPD, modifications of existing products, etc), from concept

development, design justification, prototyping, testing, approval through to implementation using a

project management structured approach, keeping into account scope (features and quality), time

and cost constraints as well as any applicable compliance requirements.

Experience in Aluminium Casting, Plastic injection moulding and machining process.

Lead technical communications with suppliers throughout the projects and report it out periodically

to Lead Engineering team.

Create detail component and assembly drawings for manufacturing, testing and verification and

conformance of design outputs to meet design inputs and oversee testing.

Create engineering documents, technical specifications, work instructions and any other relevant

documents to ensure a comprehensive design handover to production.

Assist manufacturing on analysing design engineering problems in the context of product design and

development and provide solutions in a timely manner.

Provide high level engineering support to customers throughout product development and after

release to diagnose and solve technical issues.

Maintain up-to-date data in the ERP as well as technical documents (engineering drawings,

specifications, procedures, work instructions etc) as per relevant quality procedures.

Work with external resources (consultants & subcontractors) when required to assist in the design &

development task.

Investigate new and/or existing technologies and their applicability on products.

Maintain the integrity and follow all policies and procedures contained in the Quality Management

System and Environmental Management System; facilitating the implementation of the QMS and

EMS, to update and maintain processes in the QMS and EMS and to actively ensure the direct

reports of this position are implementing and following processes outlined in the QMS and EMS on a

daily basis.

The incumbent also needs to be aware that failure to follow the Policies and procedures may result

in potential or actual damage to the environment and following on from that, Federal, State and

Local Governments may impose very serious penalties to individuals and Companies who break

environmental laws, however minor. Where difficulties are identified provide instructions and

training.
