Deputy General Manager - Electrical & Renewable Engergy

RAIN is seeking an experienced Deputy General Manager - Electrical & Renewable Energy to lead and oversee the capacity expansion project at its plant in Unit 2: Sreepuram, Boincheruvupalli (V), Peapully (M), Nandyal (Dist.), Andhra Pradesh 518220.

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in electrical maintenance and operations, especially in the cement manufacturing industry, which has adopted waste-heat recovery (WHR) power and solar power as renewable energy sources. Additionally, the candidate will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills as well as communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Electrical Systems Management:

• Oversee the maintenance and optimization of high-tension (HT) and low-tension (LT) motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), related starters, and LRS slip recovery systems
• Develop and implement comprehensive preventive maintenance (PPM) programs to minimize downtime and maximize equipment availability and reliability
• Manage and oversee the erection, commissioning, and stabilization of new and existing plant electrical systems and equipment

Operational Excellence:

• Cultivate awareness about cost control, efficiency, and reliability within the team or department
• Monitor and manage supply control measures to maintain seamless production flow
• Oversee the operation and maintenance of cement silo & fly ash silo filling and extraction systems, raw material handling systems (including coal and additive truck tipplers), and storage and transportation equipment (linear stackers and reclaimers)

Safety & Regulatory Compliance:

• Maintain a strong safety culture by ensuring adherence to all safety, health, and environment (SHE) protocols and ISO 45001 standards within the department
• Maintain the KV HV switchyard, HT panels/capacitors/ motors, grid resistance regulator (GRR), stacker & reclaimer equipment, medium/low-voltage (MV/LV) drives, and diesel generator (DG) sets
• Manage liaisons with relevant regulatory bodies, including electrical installations, pollution control instruments, legal metrology, and insurance agencies
• Continuously monitor compliance with applicable regulations and standards for electrical safety and environmental norms

Requirements:

• B.Tech / M.Tech in Electrical Engineering or a related field
• At least 20 years of hands-on experience in electrical maintenance and operations, preferably in the cement industry
• Prior experience in managing waste-heat recovery (WHR) and solar power plants
• In-depth knowledge of KV HV Switch Yard, HT panel/capacitor/motors, LRS, GRR, Stacker & Reclaimer Equipment, DG sets
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills
• Superb time management and organization skills with the ability to collaborate across functions
• Hands-on experience with SAP ERP systems
• Fluency in Telugu and English

Preferred Qualifications

• B.E / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering or a related field
• Expertise in electrical maintenance and operations in cement industry
