This position is a part of the team responsible for strategizing and executive all communication activities for United Way Mumbai. The candidate would be responsible for developing and implementing long and short-term plans to achieve the organizations marketing, communications and fundraising goals. On a day to day basis, one would manage social media channels, create and write engaging content for the United Way Mumbai website, impact reports, press releases and involved in production of campaign materials to be used by field teams across our five focus areas of Education, Health, Income, Environment, Public Safety.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies to promote the organization and its programs to a variety of audiences. Ensure communication meets organizational standards and brand expectations, express our ideas accurately, and represent the organization appropriately
- Write, edit, and proofread a wide range of materials, including press releases, brochures, newsletters, speeches, and social media content
- Build and maintain relationships with media outlets and journalists, and serve as a spokesperson for the organization as needed. Organize and plan events, such as press conferences, fundraisers, and community outreach events.
- Manage the organizations social media presence, including creating and scheduling posts, monitoring engagement, and responding to comments and messages.
- Collaborate with internal teams, such as Investor Relations team and program teams, to ensure consistency in messaging and branding.
- Continuously monitoring the communication landscape, both internally and externally, to ensure the organization stays ahead of the curve in terms of communication trends and best practices. Track and analyze communication metrics to measure the effectiveness of communication efforts
Profile Requisites
- Bachelors degree in any field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a communications role, preferably in a non-profit or social impact organization
- Strong writing and editing skills, with experience creating content for various mediums. Experience managing websites and social media channels
- Strategic thinking for developing effective marketing campaigns, exceptional creativity and innovative communication skills and eye for detail.
- Organizational and time-management skills for meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
