Lead a high performing cross-functional software engineering team that provides enterprise software services, APIs, and Generative AI solutions to numerous products across the organization. The team consists of in-house and outsourced technologist that span the globe. You will be responsible for ensuring your team collaborates with product owners and other technology teams to deliver the portfolio at scale in an agile environment.
About The Role
Provide leadership and direction for a global technology team that designs and implements APIs, services, and Generative AI solutions used by dozens of Thomson Reuters applications.
Collaborate with stakeholders including Product Owners, Product Engineering, and Project Management in defining project requirements, roadmaps, and resourcing needs.
Partner with product engineering teams to deliver APIs, services, and Generative AI solutions for new and existing products.
Drive continuous process improvement and evolution of best practices.
Responsible for developing, monitoring, and analyzing key metrics.
Effectively articulate complex problems, concepts, and solutions to technical and non-technical audiences.
Create and drive implementation of departmental goals that support the company's core values.
Work with department management team, Architects, and technical leads to set the technical and architectural direction for the team.
Ensure that design and approaches fit in with the larger architectural strategy and all technical standards are being followed.
Partner with ISRM, Platform Engineering, and Service Management teams to deliver compliance with internal and external standards, expectations, and certifications.
Ensure that critical project issues/roadblocks are communicated upward and that mitigation plans are successfully executed.
Act as an escalation point for staff and partners.
Provide coaching and mentoring to staff.
Foster a continuous learning culture and a curiosity about emerging technologies.
About You
8+ Years of experience in software development with 5+ years of experience in a leadership role.
Experience with AWS, API and service development.
Proven ability to set direction and inspire team members to successfully deliver on commitments.
Proven track record of success driving projects and initiatives despite ambiguity.
Strong customer service, problem-solving, organizational, and conflict management skills.
Excellent critical thinking, communication, presentation, documentation, troubleshooting, and collaboration skills.
Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Proven ability to learn new technologies quickly.
A management style that is collaborative and results oriented.
Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and motivated by complex technical and business challenges.
