We're seeking a seasoned Data Delivery Manager to join our dynamic team. You'll play a pivotal role in spearheading the delivery of complex data projects across the cloud ecosystem, ensuring successful implementations and driving measurable value for our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, analysts, and visualization specialists. Foster a collaborative and high-performing environment, fostering knowledge sharing and continuous improvement. Attract, develop, and retain top talent within the data team.
- Own the entire data project lifecycle. From strategic planning and requirements gathering to technical design, development, deployment, and ongoing support, you'll ensure projects meet deadlines, budgets, and quality expectations.
- Bridge the gap between business and technology. Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels to understand their data challenges and opportunities, translating them into actionable data solutions aligned with business objectives. Provide strategic guidance and leadership on data initiatives.
- Become an architect of cloud data solutions. Possess in-depth knowledge of leading cloud data platforms AWS and Azure, and their capabilities for data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and governance. Design and implement scalable and secure data architectures on cloud platforms.
- Champion data engineering best practices. Design and implement robust data pipelines leveraging modern data engineering techniques (ETL, ELT, CDC) to ensure data quality, integrity, and scalability.
- Orchestrate data warehousing and data lake solutions. Design, develop, and manage scalable data warehousing or data lake architectures on cloud platforms, catering to diverse data storage and analytics needs.
- Empower data-driven decision making. Champion the use of data analytics tools and techniques (SQL, Python, R) to extract valuable insights from data. Collaborate with data analysts to develop effective data models and reporting structures.
- Embrace the power of data visualization. Work with data visualization specialists to translate complex data into compelling and easily digestible visualizations using industry-leading tools (Tableau, Power BI).
- Proactively manage risks and dependencies. Identify potential roadblocks throughout the project lifecycle and develop mitigation strategies. Maintain clear communication with stakeholders regarding project progress and any potential challenges.
- Stay on top of the ever-evolving data landscape. Continuously learn and adapt to the latest advancements in cloud data technologies, data engineering practices, and data analytics tools. Share your knowledge and expertise within the team and the broader organization.
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience in data management and delivery, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership or delivery role
- Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex data projects on time, within budget, and exceeding expectations
- Strong technical expertise in cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and a deep understanding of data engineering principles
- In-depth knowledge of data warehousing, data lakes, data pipelines, data governance best practices, and security considerations
- Proficiency in data analytics tools and techniques (SQL, Python, R)
- Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) a plus
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Strong leadership and project management skills, with expertise in Agile methodologies
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
- A passion for data and its potential to drive business outcomes
- Experience mentoring and developing junior team members
