Job Description

Responsibilities -

  • Delivery Leadership: Own the end-to-end delivery of application solutions and development across multiple customer engagements, ensuring successful project outcomes, adherence to timelines, and quality standards.
  • Solution Architecture: Provide thought leadership and hands-on technical guidance on solution design, architecture, and implementation for Java-based applications. Collaborate closely with both internal teams, specifically with Sales and Account management team and clients to develop scalable, efficient, and robust architectures.
  • Team Management: Manage, mentor, and engage a team of 100. Plus developers, including offshore and on-site resources, across various client locations. Understand and discover challenges of team members and provide them technical guidance to resolve those challenges. Ensure optimal resource allocation and performance management.
  • Pre-Sales: Stand behind members of the sales team to propose solutions or to articulate the technical aspects of discussions for customers. Create prototypes or proof of concept to convince customers on solutions. Create proposals and respond to RFPs as need be.
  • Client Engagement: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, acting as the primary technical point of contact for client escalation. Understand client requirements and business objectives to deliver customized solutions that meet or exceed expectations.
  • Process Optimization: Drive continuous improvement in delivery processes, ensuring the team follows best practices in Agile, DevOps, and modern software development methodologies.
  • Technical Leadership: Establish credibility of expertise with all stakeholders especially with customer. Drive innovative and efficient solution. Keep abreast on new technologies and upgrades.
  • Risk and Issue Management: Proactively identify potential risks or challenges in project delivery and take corrective actions. Ensure smooth resolution of project-related issues, balancing customer needs with technical constraints.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions by implementing rigorous testing practices, code reviews, and validation techniques, and maintaining adherence to industry standards.
  • Reporting & Metrics: Provide regular status updates, risk assessments, and delivery forecasts to senior leadership and clients. Utilize metrics and KPIs to monitor team performance and improve delivery outcomes.

Required Skills

  • Experience: 10+ years of past experience in software development and delivery, with a strong focus on Java programming, technical solution architecture, application development and team management. Proven experience in leading large-scale delivery in IT services company with teams (150+ engineers, both onshore and offshore).
  • Technical Expertise: Expertise in Java development, with a solid understanding of software engineering principles, microservices architecture, cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), and enterprise-level application design.
  • Pre-Sales & Solutioning: Strong background in technical solution design and architecture, with the ability to translate business requirements into scalable, reliable, secure technical solutions, effort estimation and team designing. Experience in Pod, prototype, and POC creations. Experience in drafting RFP responses is a plus.
  • Team Leadership: Proven ability to lead, manage, and inspire cross-functional teams across multiple locations, managing team dynamics, resource allocation, and performance.
  • Client Management: Strong customer-facing skills with experience managing and nurturing client relationships. Ability to engage with senior stakeholders such as President, Sr. VP of Sales, US Head of Technology, and articulate complex technical concepts in business-friendly terms.
  • Agile & DevOps: Experience with Agile methodologies (e.g. Scrum, Kanban) and DevOps practices. Proficient in continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of handling complex technical challenges and providing innovative solutions.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels.
  • Project Management: Experience with project management tools and techniques (e.g., Jira, Confluence, MS Project) and a strong understanding of project lifecycle management.
